Sigil stared at him, her expression rather blank. "Jared." She said before unscrewing another screw.

"You know I think it sounds more beautiful when you say it~" he explained with a chuckle. He waited patiently for her to finish.

Sigil rolled her eyes as she unscrewed the last screw and pulled off the vent cover, placing it on the ground "Follow me." She demanded, crawling into the ventilation shaft.

Jared hoped Sigil knew where she was going like she said she did. He was small enough to fit in the vent but his muscular build didn't give him much room, if she needed to turn around they were going to have a very hard time. Climbing in after her they made their way to the restricted area in the experimentation wing.

Sigils eyes widened in realization. This was a very small space. Her breathing began to speed up, how could she of forgotten? She was supposed to smarter than this! But she continued to push on, trying to ignore the feeling of everything closing in around her.

Sara awoke from her sleep within her tank. She always slept floating on her back in the water, ever since she was a child. When she was with her pod she could look up and fall asleep to the stars but all she could see was a pitch black cover here. It wasn't completely that way, she had lights in her tank for her to see but they only shined through the cloth so much. Besides no one came in here to see the light shining through anyways so who could help? With a sigh she turned herself upright, her blue eyes sparkling in the reflection of the water, and began to sing; her voice echoing throughout the lonely room. It was a popular song within her pod, though she wouldn't mention where they'd learned it.
"Upon one summer's morning, I carefully did stray, down by the walls of wapping, where I met a sailor gay"

Sigils furry appendages stood straight up on her head, picking up on Sara's singing. "Who is that.. I've never heard that voice, and I've been here my entire life.." She murmured, continuing on in the vent towards the voice.

Sorrow filled Sara's singing with emotion. She had a great voice, which was common among her kind, but there was something about it that differentiated it from anyone else in her pod let alone most human voices.
"Conversing with a young lass, Who seem'd to be in pain, Saying William when you go I fear you'll ne'er return again"
Jared froze when Sigil made her comment. Tuning his ears in he heard the voice as well, and it was beautiful. Quickly catching back up he asked, "Is that coming from the direction of the restricted section?.."

Sigil nodded, but noticed that they were right above the voice. She guessed they somehow made it to the ceilings ventilation shafts. She slammed her body down on the grate, pushing it off the wall and letting her body drop with it, falling on her feet in almost complete silence whilst the grate made a loud crash.

Sara didn't hear the grate over the echo of her voice and continued her melody.
"My heart is pierced by cupid, I disdain all glittering gold, There is nothing can console me, But my jolly sailor bold"
Jared watched as Sigil fell down through the grate, landing on her feet. Was she crazy? That was a pretty far jump and she could of seriously hurt herself. Taking a deep breath he jumped after her, landing it unscathed but definitely not with as much grace as her. He fell backwards onto his rear immediately and swore under his breath.

Sigil took in a big whiff of air "It smells like fish." She said, looking around the room.. What was that sheet covering?

"His hair it hangs in ringlets, His eyes as black as coal, My happiness attend him, Wherever he may go"
Jared scanned the room. He noticed a faint glow coming from the corner of the room. Starting in that direction he called to Sigil in a whisper, "Come on, this way!" before shifting to a sprint.

Sigils ears perked and she was quick to follow Jared, keeping close behind him. She flexed her fingers, preparing to dig her nails into someone if need be.

"From Tower Hill to Blackwall, I'll wander weep and moan, All for my jolly sailor, Until he sails home"
Jared found a giant structure covered in black cloth, light seeping through slightly. He could smell the water now and the voice was stronger, almost pulling him towards it. "Your telling me you've never heard this voice before?" Jared asked turning to Sigil.

Sigils sensitive ears continuously twitched "No. And I was created here. I've actually never been in the restricted section until now." Sigil reached her hand towards the cloth "Should I pull it off?" She flexed her fingers "Or cut the cloth to pieces?"

"My heart is pierced by cupid, I disdain all glittering gold, There is nothing can console me, But my jolly sailor bold"
Jared placed a hand on Sigil's shoulder, not removing his eyes from the structure. "I do not think this person is a threat, just help me pull it off" He gripped the cloth with both hands giving Sigil a nod to begin.

Sigil gripped the cloth with both hands as well, her nails poking into it, she couldn't exactly help it. She began to pull it off.

"My father is a merchant, The truth I now will tell, And in great London City, In opulence doth dwe-"
Sara froze as the cloth was removed from her tank, looking down to meet the eyes of the strangers. Her tail swayed in the water still, moving with the motion of the waves. They were peculiar people, with the appearance of animals yet still somehow human. "What bring you here? Are you friend or foe?" She asked her gaze unmoving. "Or are you aligned with the beasts that keep me here?"
Jared was unable to form words, he had never seen a mermaid before and somehow even when he imagined it the thought did not come to him as beautiful. But she was indeed contradicting these thoughts.

Sigil tilted her head, her ears flopping with the motion. "I live here." She said, rather blunt. Sigil was a little perplexed with the creature in front of her, but after spending her entire life in the labs, nothing really shocked or surprised her anymore.

Sara's gaze lightened at the stranger's words and then moved to the boy's. "And your alliance boy?"
Jared snapped out of his trace at the girls question. "I live here as well but I was not born here like her."
Giving a slight nod of approval Sara then asked, "What brings you here? And what do you call yourself?"
